ABOUT UPCOMING SEGA-09 CONFERENCE

Today remarkable progress of development is threatened by the potential risks from climate change, natural and man-made disasters, degradation of living environment and intensifying social and economic conflicts. The circular economy receives great acceptance in countries worldwide as it advocates for sustainable production, reasoned consumption, efficient waste management, all while fighting for the well-being of individuals. Circular economy principles include, but not limited to, the preservation and optimization of natural resources, reducing the consumption of non-renewable resources, and achieving eco-design.

The adoption of circular economy to the development of sustainable buildings is an interesting choice that would enhance innovation at various sectors to achieve sustainability goals. With respect to built environment and offering good indoor quality, several mechanisms and concepts were introduced such as zero carbon emission, green buildings and labelling, health environmental impact assessment etc.
